Choose soft, breathable clothing that lets you move easily. Avoid anything too tight around the waist or so loose it might catch on the equipment.
-
No, Pilates is best done barefoot. If you prefer socks, they must have grips for safety.

You’ll work on the Reformer and other Pilates apparatus, focusing on precise, supported movement. Each session builds on the last, helping you move with more ease, strength, and balance.
-
Not at all. We meet you exactly where you are and progress at your pace. Most new clients start with our Intro Series to establish a foundation.
-
Consistency matters more than intensity. Twice a week is ideal when you’re starting, and once a week is great for maintenance.
-
It’s both. You’ll build strength and tone, but you’ll also learn how to move more efficiently — improving posture, balance, and how you feel in your body every day.
Structural Integration
-
Each session lasts about 75 minutes and takes place on a comfortable treatment table. The work is hands-on and slow-paced, giving your body time to respond and integrate changes. You’ll participate through small movements and guided breathing.
-
Ah, the most frequently asked question about the Ida Rolf Method. You may feel deep sensation as the tissue releases, but it should never feel forceful or harmful. Most clients describe the work as intense in moments but ultimately grounding and relieving. If something ever feels too painful, it becomes counterproductive to the process. We’ll always adjust or pause so your body can stay relaxed and receptive to the work.
-
Rather than focusing on symptoms or single muscles, Structural Integration looks at how your whole body relates to gravity. The work aims for long-term structural balance and ease of movement, not temporary relief.
-
Arrive with clean skin and avoid applying any lotion or oil. It helps to stay hydrated and eat lightly beforehand. Try to give yourself a little quiet time afterward so your body can integrate the changes.
-
Many people start with the classic ten-session series, designed to progressively balance and align the body. Single or maintenance sessions can also be helpful once your structure is more organized.
-
Structural Integration is done in undergarments or a two-piece bathing suit so we can observe your alignment and movement. For women, a bra that exposes the back and underwear that shows the hips work best. For men, briefs or boxer briefs are ideal. Please avoid loose boxer shorts and restrictive materials such as heavy lycra, bike shorts, or shapewear. Choose something soft and non-compressive.
